Who Are We?

Wellston Trees & Greens was established in 2011 as the Heart of Georgia Energy Coalition which was focused on energy resources conservation and development. Then in 2014, underwent an organizational re-branding and strategic expansion of mission and vision to accommodate the expansion of passive parks, green spaces, and natural resources development projects in the Warner Robins Georgia area.

It all began when a group of community-minded leaders formed a steering committee comprised of members from Keep Warner Robins Beautiful, Georgia Military College, NAMI, City of Warner Robins, Warner Robins Houston County Housing Authority, and other community-partner companies and groups in January 2014, to develop a private-public partnership initiative to take a 5-acre tract of abandoned city-owned property, and another adjoining tract of private property owned by NAMI that was in disrepair in Warner Robins, to form the Warner Robins Nature Center & Botanical Gardens. The project went from concept to opening in five months with the Grand Opening being signified by EarthFest 2014 on May 3rd.

Because of the wide recognition of those timely efforts and efficiency of resource development, some of the members decided to explore other possible development projects with the encouragement of community leadership. Knowing the talent represented, nine members decided to form a non-profit organization to help community leaders in the exploration, identification, strategic planning, and implementation of focused efforts in the development of future parks, trails and learning centers for the community to enjoy.
